We Do Science Interview

I recently did an interview with Laurent Bannock, an expert in sport and exercise nutrition.  His podcast We Do Science has rapidly become quite popular, due to Laurent's credibility and the interesting guests he interviews.  We covered body composition, metabolically healthy obesity, the relationship between BMI and mortality, calorie counting, body fat regulation, and other related topics.

If you've already listened to several of my interviews and are starting to find them repetitive, you might enjoy this one because we cover some new ground.  Laurent was a gracious host.  Follow the link below to listen:

  2. Stephan,

I had a hard time finding this podcast given the link you gave. Perhaps you could help your readers by indicating that your interview is found at Episode 33.

  3. For lack of a more general place to post, I'll do it here. I am reading Ari Whitten's "The Low Carb Myth" and it's a fascinating read. It is shaking my (reluctant) belief that low-carb is the way I should eat and he addresses all of those little things about low-carb that have been nagging at me for years.

The reason I post this on your website is because his primary reference source seems to be you. Given how often he quotes you and links to your articles, I assume you were at least consulted on the book. Do you have any plans to discuss the book or maybe review it here? What I've read so far seems very similar to what you've been posting.

  4. I love your blog and always manage to (eventually) read everything you wrote. I would like to suggest that it would be nice to be able to ask questions. For example, in your recent series on meat, my takeaway was that no negative impacts were found except for processed meat. But what is included in processed meat, and are they all the same?
Anyway, thank you for a very nice blog.

  6. It ain't just about eating less and moving more or counting calories and weighing all your food. Sure, that stuff works for a little bit but it only gets you so far and then once you stop that diet you just gain it all back (and usually extra weight!). My boyfriend and I lost right around 115 pounds (between the 2 of us) in just under 3 months (http://wp.me/p5NIsT-14) and it's all about a life change. Starving yourself, doing cardio till you drop and popping diet pills don't work and it never will.
