Food Reward Friday

This week's lucky winner... the Pizza Hut Hot Dog Bites pizza!!!

What's up with adding hot dogs to other junk foods these days?  Is there something about ground-up nostrils that gives pizza crust a certain je ne sais quoi?

Something tells me that Pizza Hut is trying to pump up its flat-lining sales by taking the Hardee's approach-- laying aside all health concerns and trying to maximize food reward by piling on more grease and processed meats.

"Pizza Hut has created the perfect combination for American taste buds", proclaims the company in a press release-- explicitly acknowledging its focus on food reward.  The fact that this statement might actually be true is kind of sad.

Thanks to WHS reader Scott Weigle for passing this along.

I'm always relieved when I don't actually want to eat the Food Reward Friday selections.

I agree with Jen. That's disgusting. I can't imagine anyone over 16 enjoying it.

I'm not going to pretend I wouldn't like it

What the hell is this !? That's food worthy of Lovecraft's primal evils ...

Pizza is by far my favorite food. That may be why I think this looks better than the hot dog on a burger from a few weeks ago. I like a hotdog with 1. bun, 2. mustard, 3. relish, and 4. kraut. Regardless, I think they look unappealing when added to other foods.

Every period of time I'm eating pizza regularly, my gym performance increases significantly. I haven't had pizza in 4 months, and I've had significant strength loss and two workout related injuries. I'm the leanest I've ever been, though. Sure there are more than a couple of confounding variables but I like my "magic of pizza" story!

French's mustard realizes the lucrativeness of the pizza industry. Now they are trying to get people to associate French's mustard with pizza. Nabisco used a similar tactic circa 2006 and sold an Oreo pizza as desert after a Domino's pizza.
